Our Black Forest Cake is a showstopping tribute to the German dessert classic. Two layers of dark chocolate cake are filled with cherry preserves and a cherry-liqueur-spiked frosting, then coated in that same luscious frosting and finished with candied cherries and chocolate curls. Rich, indulgent, and stunning on any dessert table.
Named for Germany's Black Forest region, this cake carries the story of the place itself in every layer. The dark chocolate is said to echo the dense, shadowy pines of the forest, while the kirschwasser, a cherry brandy distilled from the region's sour cherries, lends its signature bright, boozy note. Some even trace the look of the cake to the traditional folk costume of local farm girls, whose wide black hats were topped with red pom-poms not unlike the candied cherries crowning the cake today.
Pair with our Pork Schnitzel for a German-inspired meal. Guten Appetit!
Each Black Forest Cake is 8” and serves up to 8.
